(UNI) A two-judge bench of Calcutta High Court today admitted a public interest litigation seeking a CBI investigation into the Sarada Group chit fund scam. The bench ordered that all bank accounts and properties of the chit fund company Sarada Group be seized immediately.
The bench, headed by Chief justice Arun Mishra, also asked the state Government to file an affidavit stating what steps it had so far taken to protect the interests of depositors of the chit fund on May 2.
The court also directed SEBI to place of list of Sarada group’s property before the bench.
The matter was posted for further hearing on May 3. UNI
