(UNI) Justice P Sathasivam will be the new Chief Justice of India.
The seniormost judge of the Supreme Court shall be administered oath of office by President Pranab Mukherjee on July 18.
Justice Sathasivam will take over from the present Chief Justice Altamas Kabir.
The 40th Chief Justice of India, Justice Sathasivam will have a tenure of over nine months.
His name has been cleared by the President as well as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Government is likely to issue the notification of the elevation of Justice Sathasivam as CJI within next few days most probably on Monday. UNI
