
Puduchwerry Principle Sessions Court Judge here C S Murugan, today said he would pronounce on November 27 the judgement in the sensational Sankaaraman murder case in which the Kanchi mutt head Sri Jayendra Saraswathi is the prime accused.
Twenty one of the 24 accused, including Jayendra Saraswathi and the junior seer Vijayendra Saraswathi, who is the second accused in the case, appeared before the court this morning.
While one of the accused Kadiravan was murdered, two others, Rajnikanth and ‘Dil’ Pandyan, failed to appear.
With all formalities in the case having been completed, the judge consulted the advocates of both the sides and informed that he would praonounce the judgement on November 27, and adjourned the court.
The case related to the murder of the Accounts Officer of the Varadaraja Perumal te4mple in the silk and temple town of Kancheepuram in Septemebr 2004 by a group of assailants. The murder was committed in the temple premises, it may be recalled.
