(UNI) A CBI officer said dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar had murdered their daughter Aarushi and servant Hemraj.
Superintendent of Police A G Kaul, appearing as prosecution witness in the special CBI court, said circumstantial evidence pointed to the parents’ role.

The murders had taken place at night in the Talwar residence in Noida. Aarushi was found murdered in her bedroom on May 16, 2008. A day later, the body of the servant, Hemraj was found on the terrace of the building. There were no signs of forced entry.

Mr Kaul said no one from outside could have come in and committed the murders.

In his testimony, the officer said initially the finger was pointed at the three servants and compounder of the Talwars. However, during the course of investigation they were found to be innocent.

On April 9, Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU) Director Mohinder Singh Dahiya had told the court that the head injuries on both victims could have been caused by a blunt object like a golf club or hockey stick and their throats slit with a sharp instrument like a scalpel.

The CBI had recovered a golf club from the loft of Talwar’s house several months after the murder. UNI
