(UNI) Andhra Pradesh High Court acting Chief Justice N V Ramana stressed the need for speedy and equal justice and appealed to the judiciary to uphold the judicial system.
Inaugurating a mega Lok Adalat in the premises of court complex, here, he said the Constitution had bestowed the right to speedy and equal justice to the people. He said if people lose faith in the judiciary it would lead to anarchy and a peace less society. ‘To Protect our democracy, we should protect our judiciary’ he said and regretted that speedy justice was not being delivered in our courts’.
He said the Lok Adalats would deliver speedy justice and appealed to the people to avail the opportunity.
He said the confidence that injustice would not be meted out in the courts would be created among public.
High Court Justice Rohini said Lok Adalats had gained significance. The Common man would turn to the courts if he faces any problem, with the hope of justice. She appealed that justice should be delivered to them.
The acting Chief Justice also inaugurated an additional district court at Nandigama. UNI
